5 Seconds of Summer's new song: Wherever you are

Monday morning Five Seconds of Summer, an Australian band released a new song and music video. The song "Wherever you are" gained over 500,000 views within the first day. The band made the music video very relaxed hoping for the fans to concentrate on the song. They showed old videos of the band and them sitting in a studio recording for the video, it was a very nostalgic feel.

Reception of the song was all positive. The band members kept thanking fans for watching on twitter and tweeting back to the comments fans made, they were stoked people loved the song. As different countries started to wake up and see the song was released, the tweets kept pouring in, it showed the diverse fan base the band has.

On YouTube it seemed like people couldn't get enough of the song.
It seemed the band has created a hit, people can't wait for them to go on tour and release their first album. They have been on the road, touring with One Direction but once the tour is done, they said they'd release an album.

Summer Fest concert review

This past weekend I attended the Summerfest tour. This consisted of the headliner We The Kings, and four bands to play prior to them. These were: Like the Movies, The Ready Set, T Mills and Breathe Carolina. It was a more laid back feeling, more laid back Than I am used to with concerts, but it was an amazing night. It was held in Orlando at the House Of Blues in Downtown Disney. When they started letting people inside at 6:30, my friend and I got in and were around the second and third row for the entire night.

The first band to play was Like the Movies. I was actually unaware that they were even playing and I hadn't heard of them prior to that night. They are originally from Orlando and the group is made up of Chris Ganoudis and Nick Davila. They had a really nice pop type sound and I definitely would go to a concert they were playing again. Their setlist was short considering they were an opener and they played four original songs, including their single 'With You' as well as a cover song.

The next band up was The Ready Set and this was my second time seeing them and it wascompletely perfect. Jordan, the lead, was full of energy and getting the crowd going through his entire set. The setlist was as follows: Young Forever, Carry Me Home, Killer, More Than Alive, Freaking Me Out, Love Like Woe and Give Me Your Hand. He played two new songs and the rest were well known by all.

Next up after a short set change was T Mills. I had heard of him but never really listened to his music. All I knew was that he was a rapper with a little pop twist. He came on and I was weary of if I would like him or not because rap isn't really my forte. I could say he was my least favorite but that was just because I didn't know his songs so I couldn't really get into it. He did do a very good job of keeping the crowd entertained though and his setlist was as follows: She Got A..., Right Song, Diemonds, Loud, All I Wanna Do, Hundred, Vans On.

After T Mills came on Breathe Carolina. I was

so incredibly stoked to see them for the third
time it was insane. Breathe Carolina is an
electronic rock type duo, David Schmitt and
Kyle Even. Unfortunately, Kyle had gone back
home due to some family related things so
they found someone to step in for him.
Though he was missed, his replacement was
just as amazing. During their set was when I
really felt like I was at a concert. The room
was full of energy and everybody, if they
hadn't been for the last few bands, was
completely in love with Breathe Carolina. Their
setlist was: Hello Fascination, Hit and Run, Mistakes, I.D.G.A.F., Last Night (Vegas), Wooly, Billie Jean (Michael Jackson cover) and Blackout.

After all that exciting buildup it was time for the one and only: We The Kings! Their setlist contained 13 of their pretty well known songs, then they broke for a few minutes, then came back for a three song encore. We The Kings is made up of: Travis Clark, Danny Duncan, Coley O'Toole, Charles Trippy, and Hunter Thomsen. They
were honestly without a doubt
perfect. It was also the third time I was seeing them live and it may have been my favorite time. Their setlist consisted of my favorite song 'Say You Like Me' and some of their more popular works such as 'Check Yes Juliet' and 'Heaven Can Wait'. They played about an equal number of songs from each of their three albums and I love that about them because
most bands play a few old songs and then all newer ones. There was also one point where they played a new song called 'Any Other Way' and filmed themselves and the crowd for their music video.

Overall it was a night to remember. House of Blues is a very common place for the concerts I attend and I find it to be a very convenient location for the fact that it is in an open, family friendly environment and it is easy to navigate. All the bands were wonderful and I would definitely go see them all again.

MTV Music Video Awards review

MTV Video Music Awards: Performance Reactions

Will Smith and family reacting to Lady Gaga's
performance during the MTV Video Music Awards
The first performance of the night was during the pre-show with Austin Mahone singing "What about Love". Viewers were impressed by his precise choreographed dance moves and catchy lyrics. Ariana Grande was the next to performance who did a combination of "Baby I" and "The Way". With so many adoring fans it's no wonder MTV chose her to pick a fan, and give out free tickets to the main show inside. The first performance of the main show was the eccentric Lady Gaga. To say the least her performance was very interesting, getting a reaction out of many celebrities. It specifically gained the attention of the Smith family who has a candid photo of them with very shocked and confused faces.

The next performance was the unforgettable Miley Cyrus. She performed her controversial song "We Can't Stop" in a tiny body suit that later became a nude bikini and a manicured foam finger when she joined Robin Thicke for his song "Blurred Lines". I guess the lines of discretion got blurred that night. This performance raised the eyebrows of everyone including those in the audience. This performance was more than inappropriate, it was just plain nasty. Miley's suggestive movements caused a huge uproar on television, social media, and radio. The performance had support from only family members and close friends, naming her father who retaliated on twitter as well as Disney friend Selena Gomez.

Another memorable performance was that of Justin Timberlake who was performing as Video Vanguard of the year. This performance rocked the house with a combination of all of his greatest hits. Those included
"Cry Me a River", "Sexy Back", "Suit & Tie", "Mirrors", "What Goes Around", and "Give It To Me". One of the best moments of the performance was the long awaited and anticipated reunion on N"sync who did a choreographed section and snippet of hit song "Bye Bye Bye". This performance got the whole stadium to dance with old and new fans. Justin closing performance was to show he's been around for a while but won't be stopping anytime soon.

Other performers included Drake who gave a lack luster performance of "Started from the Bottom", Bruno Mars who gave a passionate performance of gritty song "Gorilla", Katy Perry who did a boxing themed performance of new song "Roar", and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis singing "Same Love" with their wonderful vocalist and special guest Jennifer Hudson. To say the least this year’s VMA's were beyond memorable but momentous for some and for others horrific.
